What’s Really in Your Water & Toothpaste?

Ever looked at your toothpaste label and seen “fluoride” and thought nothing of it?
Or turned on your tap, filled your glass, and drank without a second thought?
Most of us do.
But here’s something I’ve been sitting with lately:
Fluoride—something we’ve been told is good for us—may not be as harmless as we think. It has also been classified as a neurotoxin. 😕
If you have a machine that filters the water, awesome! But I also realise that sighhh, most filters can only reduce but not remove completely, unless you go for reverse osmosis types.
While fluoride may help prevent cavities, too much of it in our system has been linked to a range of issues—especially when it’s not just in our toothpaste, but also added to our tap water (in many places without our awareness or consent).
And honestly, even if you believe that there’s no risk from toothpaste cos no one swallows it, the fact is that yes a tiny amount DO get absorbed through our gums and teeth. Compound that by the number of times we brush our teeth over the days, weeks, months and years.
I’m not here to scare, but to share.
To invite a bit more conscious choice into our everyday routines.
To ask:
— Do I actually know what I’m putting into my body?
— What alternatives are available that still support my health… but more naturally?
I’ve been on fluoride-free toothpaste, and I’m looking into water filters that can reduce fluoride levels. Small steps, but they help me feel more in tune with what I allow into my body.
Curious to hear—have you ever thought about your fluoride intake? Have you made any switches?
