Growing up, I had eczema from as young as age 5. It was a condition that plagued me till my 30s. Understandably my parents would send me to the dermatologist and various doctors, buy off the shelf skincare products that claim to help clear off the rashes. Some products didn’t work at all, some do but invariably the rashes would always come back.
At that time, we didn’t know there is a difference between treating a condition at its symptoms and treating it at the root cause. All I wanted was to have smooth, blemish free skin and not draw gasps of horror from people who saw my swollen, spotty face, at my neck, behind my knees or at the insides of my elbows. With Singapore being hot and humid, it did not help either to ease the constant itch.
I saw my self-esteem take a nosedive as I tried to tackle my skin again and again. Sometimes it gets better and I would have hope. But every single time, I would have given in to the constant itch, scratch and it’s back to square one for me.
As a person with such sensitive skin, I am selective of what I use on my face. I am not one who will do the whole skincare routine (well, it’s more of I can’t otherwise my skin will react adversely). So the most I did was to wash then moisturise. I need a very gentle facial cleanser; most tend to be too harsh and dry for me. A light moisturizer otherwise it’ll clog my skin and made me itch.
Thankfully, a friend of mine reached out to me and urged me to see a naturopath. And that is where my life started changing. This is how I look like today:
I’ve learnt how to pick the food that will help me clear it off. And the supplements to accelerate the healing.
If this is something you’ll love to know how, I’m creating a FREE short course to educate folks on that. It will be ready in Feb 2025 and this is the link to click to register your interest. I will update everyone on that list when it’s ready!
