Copaiba essential oil is derived from the resin of the Copaifera reticulata, Copaifera officinalis, and Copaifera coriacea trees, which are native to Brazil. Young Living sources its Copaiba essential oil through a sustainable sourcing partnership with local Brazilian farmers and distillers. The resin is carefully harvested from the trees in a way that allows the trees to continue to thrive and produce more resin in the future. The resin is then steam distilled to extract the essential oil.
It has a warm, woody, and slightly sweet aroma, and it is known for its potential health benefits.
Some of the potential benefits of Copaiba includes:
- Anti-inflammatory properties: Copaiba essential oil contains beta-caryophyllene, a natural compound that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects.
- Pain relief: Copaiba essential oil may help to relieve pain and discomfort, especially when used topically.
- Respiratory support: Copaiba essential oil may help to support respiratory health and reduce symptoms of respiratory conditions.
- Skin care: Copaiba essential oil may help to reduce the appearance of blemishes and improve the overall appearance of the skin.
Copaiba can be used topically, aromatically, or internally, depending on the specific use and desired effect.
I’ve personally used Copaiba during my son’s teething period when he was a baby. It’s a must have during this period. I’ve also used it when any family member gets an ulcer. I like that Copaiba has no taste at all so it’s easily accepted among young and old.
Lastly you can also use Copaiba as the last oil to amplify the strength of the previously used oils.
