Palo Santo

Palo Santo or “Holy Wood” essential oil is derived from the steam distilled from wood chips of dead heartwood – Ecuador of the Palo Santo tree (Bursera graveolens). The wood must be dead for at least 2 years before the oil is pulled into the heartwood.

Palo Santo essential oil possesses a unique and pleasant aroma, characterized by a sweet, woody, and citrusy scent. It is highly valued for its spiritual and aromatic properties, similar to the raw wood.

Benefits:

Aromatherapy: The aromatic properties of Palo Santo essential oil can promote relaxation, reduce stress, and uplift the mood. Many people find its scent calming and grounding, making it a popular choice for meditation and spiritual practices.

Purification: Just like burning the raw wood, Palo Santo essential oil is believed to have purifying and cleansing properties, making it suitable for clearing negative energy and creating a sacred space.

Respiratory Support: Some individuals use Palo Santo essential oil to help with respiratory issues like congestion, coughs, and cold symptoms. It is believed to have mild expectorant properties that may ease breathing.

Emotional Balance: The aroma of Palo Santo essential oil is thought to help alleviate anxiety and emotional distress, promoting a sense of tranquility and balance.

You can also diffuse Palo Santo to clear negative energy from the environment or even from yourself if you feel that you are subjected to energy vampires or toxic people in your day. To apply on yourself, imagine that you have an invisible coat on your body. Drip out a few drops of Palo Santo and apply on the “invisible coat” making sure that you cover everywhere, even at the back and the insides of your legs.
