Oil first, or water first?

The longer I’ve been in the Young Living world, the more I realise how much I don’t know and continue to learn.
You see, I’ve always added the water first to my diffuser before adding the eo of my choice. I guess I did it partially because sometimes I use hot oils and those can be the hardest on plastic. And so I would add water first to “protect” the plastic from direct contact of the oils.
And ya I know YL diffusers are made of the hardiest and highest grade plastic ever so ya I dont know what I’m thinking. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคญ
So anyway I’ve always observed that the oils will float on top then get diffused off first with some water. Then what’s left is like mostly water and very little eo. And that’s where I can’t really smell my eos anymore. (Or perhaps my nose got used to the scent.)
When Jamie Moya shared that we can always EXTEND the duration of the benefits of the eos by adding oils first THEN the water, I wanna SMACK MY FOREHEAD LIAO! Ya the water would have been more thoroughly mixed rather than the uneven diffusing I’ve gotten.
It’s elementary, my dear Faith.
Ok at least better late than never that I learn this!
Do you add your oils first then water before diffusing? Or do you do the other way round? ๐Ÿ˜‰
